How to create a shortcut to the vaccine pass on a smartphone?

There are different ways - fortunately - to access the vaccine pass quickly, without having to search forever among all the applications on your smartphone. Here's a trick that allows you to integrate it into your mobile device's digital card holder, whether it's Wallet on iPhone or Google Pay on Android.

We can no longer, or almost, go out without this document. Required at the entrance to all places of leisure, culture, catering or even for long-distance journeys by public transport, the vaccination pass has become essential. Coming to replace the health pass at the start of 2022, it fortunately remains available in a digital version and works in the same way on smartphones, through a QR Code.

Need a new smartphone?

Previously on SFR News, you were already told how to use this "sanitary proof" on your mobile device, and even offered a way to display it in one click, whether on iPhone or on a android phone. While, as a reminder, the vaccine pass no longer accepts negative test certificates for Covid-19, requiring a complete vaccination schedule, a certificate of recovery or a medical contraindication, we are now offering you another tip. to be able to quickly access the precious QR Code - and therefore show your credentials - from your smartphone.

In addition to being able to find it, obviously at any time, in the TousAntiCovid government application, and install it from there as a widget on the home screen, you can also integrate the vaccination pass into the digital card holder of your smartphone. On iPhone, it is called Wallet, or simply Cartes in French. On Android, this is the Google Pay app. Here's what to do in both cases.

How to add the vaccine pass to Wallet on iPhone?

  1. In the Safari browser, go to the CovidPass site. This will ask you to "select a certificate", by one of the following two means.
  2. Choose "Start the camera" if, for example, you have your vaccination pass on paper, or if you can scan it from another screen. Be sure to center the QR Code in both cases in the camera window. Once this is validated, go directly to step 4.
  3. Choose "Select a file" if you have saved a PDF of your vaccination pass, or even a screenshot (but you will see that it is impossible to make one from the TousAntiCovid application, to prevent the vaccine pass from being shared).
  4. The CovidPass site then offers you to choose a color, which will serve as the background for the card of your vaccination pass in Wallet. Simply select one of your choice, knowing that it is purely aesthetic.
  5. You must then check the box "I accept the Privacy Policy".
  6. Then click on the "Add to Cards" button.
  7. A preview of your vaccination pass in the form of a digital card is displayed on the screen. If you're happy with this (you can still go back, for example to change the color), click on "Add" at the top right of the screen.

And here you go is played! Your vaccination pass is now available as a card in Wallet. As a reminder, you can easily access the application from the locked screen of your iPhone: double-click on the side button for devices equipped with Face ID, double-click on the central button for those equipped with Touch ID . Also note that if you have paired an Apple Watch to your iPhone, the Wallet card for your vaccine pass will also be available on it. Even more practical!

How to create a shortcut to the vaccination pass on a smartphone?

On Android smartphones, the approach is a little different. And first requires installing not just one, but two apps from the Play Store. First of all, Google Pay, which is actually not offered by default as Wallet on the iPhone. Then Pass2Pay, which is free but will require you to advertise in return. This application is only used to create a digital card of your vaccination pass, you can then completely uninstall it.

  1. In Pass2Pay, scan the QR Code of your vaccination pass, either by uploading a photo via the "Open Picture" button, or using your smartphone's camera via the "Camera" button.< /li>
  2. Your vaccination pass is displayed in Pass2Pay, which offers you to personalize it - but it is better not to change anything...
  3. Go directly to the bottom of the page and tick the box to accept the general conditions of use: "Include Pass2Pay terms of use".
  4. Then click on the "GPay - Save to phone" button below.

C t is then that you will be forced to watch an ad... But once that's done, that's it, your vaccination pass is added as a digital card in the Google Pay application! A simple and fast way, in short, to access the famous QR Code at any time from your Android smartphone.
