Making long car journeys, going on hiking, doing a long running session, or getting late from a watered evening are all reasons for your loved ones to worry when you travel alone.To calm them down but also to reassure you if you are not comfortable in the idea of traveling alone, Google Maps incorporates a function allowing to share your location in real time.The people with whom you have activated sharing can then follow all your trips on a card until you arrive safely.To operate, the option, however, requires constant access to GPS of your device which can affect its autonomy.
1.Access position sharing
Open Google Maps on your smartphone, and deploy the menu on the left in the search bar.Press position sharing to access the function settings.
2.Configure sharing
Press the "start" button at the bottom of the screen and choose the duration of your position sharing.By default, Google Maps offers to share your trips for an hour.Change the duration if necessary, or select "until deactivation" to stop sharing manually.
3.Choose contacts and share the link
Then select the contact (s) with which you want to share your location.Google Maps then takes care of generating a link that you can share with email, sms or other.
Your loved ones then only have to click on the link received to follow your trips on Google Maps in real time from their PC or Smartphone.
