Samsung: Kies gives way to Smart Switch

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, available since this morning, are not compatible with the famous but old Kie software.The new flagships of the South Korean manufacturer indeed use a new solution, called Smart Switch.Information that the Sammobile specialized site brings us.

Two minutes for 1 GB of data transferred

Kies, which has been the software used for data transfer and the various updates for a few years, will therefore disappear in favor of a more efficient solution.Smart Switch indeed offers faster data transfers, since it takes about two minutes for 1 GB of data.

It also makes it possible to recover data of phones as diverse as it is varied: the Android, iOS terminals (4.2.1 or more), Blackberry (6.0 or more) and Nokia (Series 40, Symbian 6.0 or more).

Compatible with Mac and PC, Smart Switch offers roughly the same features as Kies, by offering an interface closer to the user.To use it, you will have to connect your old phone and the new Galaxy S6 to your computer via a cable, and the software will automatically synchronize your contacts, your call log but also all kinds of settings that you have configured.Smart Switch also allows you to save and restore your terminal, and to check manually if an update is available.
