Netflix has decided to remove some images from its new hit series: "Squid Game". Scenes from this South Korean program indeed reveal a telephone number. But the latter is a real line, whose owner claims to have been going through a nightmare since the series was released on September 17.

Broadcast worldwide since September 17, the Squid Game series continues to be talked about. According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, certain scenes from the South Korean program will be removed by Netflix, BFMTV reports Thursday, October 7. And in particular the images on which a telephone number appears.

Indeed, this new hit series follows 456 indebted Koreans who agree to participate in a game whose winner will win 45.6 billion won, or about 32 million euros. Participants are recruited using a business card on which a telephone number appears. But the latter is a real number. He belongs to a South Korean living in the province of Gyeonggi, in the north of the country. And it would be bombarded with calls daily.

4,000 calls per day

Interviewed by the Korean channel MBC, this resident spoke of a real ordeal night and day. He claims to receive 4,000 calls a day. At the end of the line, he sometimes hears children's voices telling him "want to participate in the game". Helpless, he explains that he cannot change the number, because it is a professional line that has been used for ten years. In addition, other South Koreans whose number only differs by one or two digits would experience the same thing, according to the American media.

Netflix is ​​therefore preparing to delete all the image plans on which this famous number appears so that these inhabitants can find some peace of mind. Already in 2019, the streaming giant had deleted a scene in one of its series. That of a suicide in season 1 of 13 Reasons Why, which had been deemed too explicit and created controversy.
