A duo turned iconic

Brothers Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff reached their peak in the 1980s with this futuristic anticipation TV show. With their light Russian accent and laser gaze, they talk about the train of the future, artificial intelligence, astronomy or UFOs.

While not everyone is a fan-L'Express magazine ironed in 1985 about "these circus clones who invented the sanisette, asexual look"-they are nevertheless propelled to the status of icons by an entire generation who admire their gifted duo: "at the age of 11, we passed tests that taught us that we are in the 0.01% of the population with an IQ greater than 190," Grichka claimed.

Subsequently, they will be criticized for the credibility of their scientific work and will be mocked for their transformed physique, which they themselves have described as "alien."

A neat decor and silver suits

Throughout the episodes of time X, the two brothers evolve in a space ship setting, wearing the same futuristic and silver combinations (which they wear in the photo below) for nine seasons, according to Le Monde. A careful staging that allowed the show to meet with a real popular success.

Prestigious guests

The Bogdanoff brothers welcome a wide variety of guests, personalities from the scientific scene but also artists and authors. Jean-Michel Jarre talks, for example, about the links between electronic music and science fiction. At the age of 13, young Frédéric Beigbeder spoke about his taste for science fiction. The presenter duo interview, in English, the droid from the Star wars film series, C3PO.

Charles Aznavour evokes his love of Ray Bradbury's work and regrets not having managed to write a sci-fi song. Filmmaker Roman Polanski and economist and writer Jacques Attali also make appearances.

It should be noted that it was alongside the Bogdanoff brothers that actor Franck Dubosc made his comedian debut.

A difficult comeback

Igor and Grichka Bogdanov return to the 21st century with two other scientific broadcasts. They present on France 2 X-rays between 2002 and 2007 and A pas du futur, between 2010 and 2011.

Recently, Grichka Bogdanoff had, with her brother, a plan to resume their cult show Temps X with the Canal Group. This return was also mentioned in the case of their trial for "fraud on vulnerable persons", which was scheduled to take place on 20, 21 and 27 January 2022. They are accused of robbing a bipolar millionaire to settle their financial troubles and relaunch the science fiction show that made them famous.
