Reinforced curfew and borders: Jean Castex's announcements to avoid confinement

"We can still give ourselves a chance to avoid confinement," said Prime Minister Jean Castex on Friday evening, when speaking from the Elysée after a defense council.The executive nevertheless announced a hardening of the curfew, coupled with new prohibitions.

The Prime Minister also specified that a negative PCR test would be requested for any entry into France from an EU country, "with the exception of cross -border workers".This measure, already in force since last Sunday for maritime and air transport, must therefore be extended to land transport.

Finally, "all trips from and in the direction of all our overseas territories will also now be subject to the production of imperative reasons from this Sunday," added the head of government in a brief television speech.

A third in suspense confinement

For companies, he indicated that "the use of telework will be strengthened".A measure that also applies to public administrations.

Jean Castex also raised his tone against "the excesses of a few" by promising a strengthening of the controls of the 6:00 pm curfew and the clandestine festivals and the "illegal opening" of restaurants.
