"The Many Saints of Newark": a trailer for the "soprano" prequel

The eight years after the death of James Gandolfini, it is his son, Michael, who puts Tony Soprano's costume in the prequel of the cult series of HBO.

Fourteen years after the end of the cult series Les Soprano, its creator David Chase unveils this Tuesday the first trailer of his prequel, The Many Saints of Newark.Highly anticipated by fans, the film will tell the youth of Tony Soprano.Eight years after the death of his iconic interpreter James Gandolfini, it was his son, Michael, who puts Tony Soprano's costume.

The story takes place in the late 1960s in Newark, New Jersey.While the tensions between Italian-Americans and black-American are at their height, and threaten to ignite the city, the young Tony Soprano hesitates to follow the path of his idol, his uncle Dickie Moltisanti, great laying of the local mafia (and father of Christopher, emblematic character of the series).

The fans will meet in the trailer rejuvenated versions of the main characters in the soprano galaxy, including Livia Soprano (Tony's castrating mother), Corrado "Junior" Soprano Jr.(her uncle), as well as Paulie "Waltuts" Gualtieri and Silvio Dante (her henchmen).Written by David Chase, The Many Saints of Newark is directed by Alan Taylor, director of nine episodes from the series.

Worn by Alessandro Nivola (Dickie Moltisanti) and Michael Gandolfini (Tony Soprano), but also Leslie Odom Jr., Jon Bernthal (Johnny Boy), Corey Stoll (Junior), Billy Magnussen (Paulie), Ray Liotta, and Vera Farmiga (Livia), The Many Saints of Newark will be released in the cinema on November 3.
