On the occasion of World Customs Day celebrated this year on the theme "The acceleration of the digital transformation of customs by the development of a culture of data and an efficient ecosystem", a press conference Abeen organized on January 25 and 26, 2022, by the Directorate General of Customs.The latter aims to lead to innovative and innovative digital solutions by adopting artificial intelligence technologies.

In his speech, Commander Abdelhakim Labidia revealed that the hackathon brings together 60 participants, divided into 13 teams made up of start-ups, students and professionals selected from 175 registered in competition.The purpose of this platform is to innovate customs clearance methods and customs control and modernize the services rendered to its users.As a reminder, registration in the hackathon has started since December 9, 2021 via the customs website, as part of the scientific forum on smart customs.

Two information was organized later, on December 14 and 21, 2021, within the customs incubator, a creative and development structure created within the new headquarters of the Directorate.During these two meetings, communication actions were carried out followed by distance learning workshops from December 17 to 20, 2021 led by experts in the field of modern technologies and competent managers in customs.

The participating teams, who have been supervised and accompanied by experts and specialists in the university environment, private sector and customs, disposed of 24 hours to take up the challenge and present their prototypes during the closing ceremony that'is held on January 26, 2022.The winners received prizes during the closing ceremony.
