Line Carvalho, Miss pays de la Loire: "I fly planes regularly"

Paris match. Where did you grow up? Miss LoireLin Carvalho. I grew up in Bryan, Atlantica, on the Loire, where there are about 10,000 residents, and I live there now. I have lived there since I was 2 years old, and so have all my immediate family members.

Tell us about your area: Why are you proud to represent her? I am very attached to this area. It has witnessed my growth and is certainly the most beautiful place in my eyes. Our architectural heritage is envied by the whole world: I'm talking about the castle on the Loire. Our rich land is famous all over the world for its salt, Loire wine and Lou biscuits. Our expertise: Build the best passenger ships and Airbus aircraft in the world. What about magnificent scenery like Varie's? La Baule is considered one of the most beautiful bays in the world, not to mention our distinctive towns and villages, as well as our unspoiled natural areas. Therefore, I am very proud to represent my region and people. I hope to repay their pride by honoring them by taking the Loire countries as far away as possible.

What do you want to learn and do? I am now a sophomore in my college math and physics prep class, hoping to become an airline pilot.

What is your passion? I am passionate about traveling. I was lucky. I went to many long-distance destinations of many national airlines with my mother. As for the job I want to do, which is also what I love, I have been driving regularly for three years since I got my aviation entry certificate. I'm a pilot at La Baule Cote d 'Amour Aviation Club. I mean, since I was a kid, I've practiced dancing and enjoyed acting.

How did your family react when you told them you were going to take part in the beauty contest? They were surprised at first because I was a very cautious person. However, they immediately encouraged me because they knew it would give me confidence and for me it could only be a springboard.

Why do you want to be Miss France? Becoming Miss France is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Have the opportunity to represent our beautiful country and the honor of France. La chance de pouvoir mettre son image au service de nobles causes pour porter plus haut le message des associations et contribuer à faire bouger les choses. Have the opportunity to meet French people and participate in activities in various regions. I understand everything involved and the responsibility and exemplary nature that this task requires. I think I can accept this, and I will feel very honored. That's why I want to be Miss France so that I can continue this great century-old tradition and contribute to this building in all my personal aspects.

What role do you think Miss France plays in today's society? A créer du lien au sens large du terme. Miss France is an approachable lady, the lady of all French people, regardless of gender, social class or different orientations. It helps to raise awareness of current problems, thus contributing to prevention and mobilizing as many people as possible through various channels of communication. Finally, "Miss France" shows that one must believe in one's dreams and provide oneself with the means to realize one's ambitions, which is inspiring to everyone.

"I'm never discouraged."

What impression did Miss France leave on you? Why? All the ladies have made the history of the competition in their own way, but if I had to choose one, it would be Marine Lorphelin. In addition to its incredible beauty, it exudes a lot of simplicity and softness. I admire him for his success in combining the honour of his Miss France with his desire to become a doctor. She is one of the few people who went back to school after years, which I think is very brave. Ambassadrice de l'UNICEF, je la rejoins également sur les causes qu’elle défend, c’est à elle que je m'identifie le plus.

Beauty pageants are often criticized because of the female images they contain. What do you think? By definition, competition means that certain standards must be observed. Efforts have been made to be more inclusive and I think this is a step in the right direction. Besides beauty, education level and general cultural level are also decisive factors, and the quality of oral expression is also decisive factors. In a word, in my opinion, through this competition, women have been valued in all aspects. Brilliant and dedicated women, both in France and internationally, have been honored and inspired millions of people.

How are you different from other candidates? What are your strengths? Perhaps what distinguishes me from the other candidates is my career ambition, which is not typical for a 20-year-old woman. My strong point is my determination, and I never get discouraged!

What are your shortcomings? My most frequently criticized shortcoming every day is that I am untidy, especially in storage, which I really need to work hard on. Otherwise, when I am sure that I am right, I will stick to my own ideas.

Why do you especially want to defend your career? I want to work with people who work for the welfare of children in hospitals. By providing recreation and more accommodation facilities for relatives, the pain of staying for a long time due to serious illness can be alleviated.

Can you tell us a great event in your life? J’ai découvert dès mon plus jeune âge un grand nombre de pays étrangers de cultures diverses. The face of poverty, unsanitation and pollution has opened up our minds and changed the way we look at everyday life in the West. When I was 10 years old, when the children in the Djibouti slums reached out to drive our taxis to find food, I was able to experience how lucky I was to have the life I had.

What is your fashion and what are the people who inspire you? As a young American representative, American politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has an inspiring political career. I envy Thomas Pesquette, the tenth Frenchman to go into space, because his professional achievements and his mission have made our country famous internationally in the field of aerospace. Audrey Hepburn, in addition to being one of the greatest actresses of all time in the United States, ended her career as a symbolic ambassador for UNICEF.

Are you a heart worth accepting? My heart belongs to me, and now only winning the Miss France election can make it full of happiness.
