16 months in prison for driving without a licence and speeding

For this list of offences, the court's note is salty: the Bourges Criminal Court sentenced him to 16 months in prison, with a deferred committal warrant, as well as to the revocation for eight months of a previous suspended sentence. In addition to two fines of EUR 100, the pilot is also sentenced to a two-year ban on driving any land motor vehicle.

"something is blocking"

The events date from 22 July 2019, but also from 17 February 2020, and it was not until Wednesday afternoon that Rudolphe Gérard, 38, was called to the stand of the criminal court to explain himself.

Between Dun-sur-Auron, Meillant and Bengy-sur-Craon, the thirteen-year-old added the infractions. He said a few words to justify his attitude. "I ran away foolishly. I've done a lot of crap in my life under the influence of my father, "he said, summing up the heaviness and multiplicity of his convictions.

Seize mois de prison ferme pour conduite sans permis et excès de vitesse

On his bike, with a passenger in the back, he breaks the summer air at almost double the speed limit. And from then on, everything goes on. The thirteen-year-old works in mechanics but does not have a permit or even the will to pass it. His lawyer, me Françoise Gamard, believes that "something blocks" in this refusal to submit to the examination of the driver's licence that he has not had since 2012. "and even though he has a heavy record, he has served his sentences and the last one goes back to 2018," the lawyer insists.

Lydie Samour, the deputy prosecutor, on behalf of the prosecutor's office, insisted on the seriousness of the facts and demanded 20 months' imprisonment, eight of which were suspended, as well as the revocation of a previous suspended sentence.

The prosecution did not request a detention order, as the accused, who was in charge of his family, had to be a father again the day after the hearing. That explains the deferred detention warrant issued by the court.
